Maternity and Family Services

Maternity Program Components

The following services are available to pregnant women supported by Mary's Shelter. We offer these services in whatever way will benefit women most - via outreach or while they reside in our building.

  • Temporary housing

  • Individual and group counseling

  • Assistance with coordination of:

    • Prenatal care

    • Formal education

    • Future housing

    • Budget counseling

  • On-site classes to help develop:

    • Parenting skills

    • Interpersonal relationship skills

    • Housekeeping skills

Outcomes

Our goal is give every woman to experience a healthy pregnancy while having access to the following resources:

  • Successful enrollment in and/or completion of high school, current grade level, or GED program

  • Active participation and completion of in-house courses on prenatal care, parenting and life skills training

  • Referrals to appropriate transitional or permanent housing agencies

Mary’s Shelter is not a medical facility and does not provide medical advice, medical procedures, or abortions.

Family Wellness Program Components

Designed to support low-income families of all types, our Family Wellness Program is available to caregivers by providing the following resources:

  • Scheduled, monthly in-person visits

  • Referrals to outside resources

  • Assistance with diapers, household and pantry items as needed

Outcomes

Our goal is for caregivers to have the support they need to help their families thrive.

This program is available to low-income families during scheduled appointment times. Please call our office at 610-376-1973 to discuss whether your family qualifies, and to schedule an appointment.
